Amenities: Rooms include luxury linens, Wi-Fi, speakers, a flat-screen TV, toiletries, a safe, a coffee maker, and an iron and ironing board. There's a laundry room, fitness center, hotel pantry, and business center on-site. Guests with electric vehicles can use one of the six charging stations. The PENN Play app allows guests to use their phones for check-in/out, a digital room key, and make dinner reservations. There are two dining options, including Hops House 99 and Take 2 Snack Bar.
The hotel/casino is available to rent for banquets and special events. The largest event room can hold up to 500 guests.
Recreational Activities: The main attraction at the hotel is the Hollywood Casino, which has 715 slot machines, table games (poker, blackjack, craps), and high-stakes games. Live musical performances, comedy shows, and special events are held at the casino too. Live harness racing takes place from May through October, and worldwide simulcast horse racing is shown daily.
If you’re looking for a break from the gambling action, there are plenty of fun things to do in Bangor. Get some fresh air at the Orono Bog Boardwalk, which has trails and benches. Or, visit famous author Stephen King’s House, which makes for a great photo opportunity. The Cole Land Transportation Museum is a great spot to learn some local history. For the young ones, the Maine Discovery Museum is a lovely children’s museum.
