History: The tradition of Windjammer Days began in 1962 and has become a much beloved start to the summer season in Boothbay Harbor.
Month Held: Windjammer Day takes place in Boothbay Harbor, ME the last week of June, Sunday through Saturday.
Attractions: The attractions at Windjammer Days are centered on the harbor. Some of the events include the Blessing of the Fleet, Vintage Boat Parade and Pier Party, Boat Rides, Gathering of the Fleet, Crab Cake Cookoff, Kids Alley, Pancake Breakfast, Pirates of the Dark Rose Puppet Show, Pirates Bazaar, Pirate Ship Tours, Cannon Lessons, Lobster Eating Contest, The Battle of Boothbay Harbor, Cod Fish Races, Street Parade, Ghost Walk, Fireworks, Farewell to the Schooners, Farmers Market, the Rock Skipping Contest and Tug Across the Harbor. .
Artists Alley features more than 25 artisans and craftspeople displaying their work and some will offer demonstrations. Windjammers for Wee Mateys offers crafts, games and storytelling for children.
Admission: No admission fee is charged, but many activities have a fee attached. Check the schedule for more details.
Parking: Parking is a bit of a walk to most venues. It is located all over town. For the Crab Cake Cookoff, a shuttle is available to allow parking at Boothbay Region High School.
