Webhannet Falls is in Webhannet Falls Park in Wells, Maine. Not only do you get to see a dog-friendly waterfall here, but you'll be walking in the footsteps of history, where the first permanent settlement of Wells was made in 1640.

Webhannet Falls is a great place to stop if you want to take a break from traffic on Route 1 but don't want to spend more than 30 minutes or so exploring. The path to the falls includes a "Bridge of Flowers," honoring the first settlement site. A couple of plaques in stone will explain more details of the settlement.
You can bring leashed dogs, but it's in no way safe to let a dog off-leash here if you're one who likes to bend the rules. The trail is busy, the falls are bordered by private property, and there are some steep areas above the water.
No swimming is allowed here.
Waterfall Safety
The biggest safety concern would be the risk of ticks, so check yourself and your pet when you leave. Wear bug spray too.
As beautiful as this short trail is, the signs for private property are serious. Don't try to go around the trails or cross private property lines to get closer to the water. It's not only dangerous, but it could also lead to this waterfall being fenced off.
Parking at Waterfall
Right off Route 1, you'll turn at the red building for Chase Farms, which is Buffman Hill Road. An immediate right onto Falls Park Road. There's a free parking area at the end of that road.
