History: Tina Scheer opened Timber Tina’s Great Maine Lumberjack Show in 1996 after a lifetime of participating in lumberjack events since the age of 7. She is a World Champion lat og rolling and Jack & Jill crosscut sawing. She shares her knowledge nightly with those who visit the show.
Two teams of men and women compete in 12 events, which include:
- Log rolling
- Axe throwing
- Underhand Chopping
- Power Hot Sawing
- Obstacle Pole Relay
- Crosscut Sawing
- Pole Climbing and more.
The audience is divided into two teams as well and encouraged to be vocal in their support.
Facilities: The location is in the middle of the woods. The seating is rustic benches. Outdoor toilets are available, and a snack shack provides popcorn, cold drinks, snacks, and tee-shirts. Plenty of free parking is available.
Season/Days/Hours of Operation: The pre-season begins with a couple of shows on Memorial Day Weekend and the full season begins in mid-June. Nightly shows take place every night of the week, rain or shine, at 7 pm.
Admission: Tickets may be purchased in advance online, or you can purchase them at the door. Adult ticket prices are $15.95, military and seniors $14.95, and children 4-11 are $11.95. Children three and under are free.
Kid-Friendly Info & Lessons: Tickets for kids aged 3-11 are offered at a reduced rate. The kids in the audience are encouraged to participate, and they can even take part in activities with the lumberjacks and hills. For those that want to take part in an hour or more of learning lumberjack skills, the cost of $80 an hour for up to six participants makes for an affordable and fun activity. Two options for lessons are available. Wear bathing suits, you will get wet.
