History: The White Barn Inn & Spa celebrated its 50th anniversary as a deluxe accommodation and dining venue in Kennebunkport in 2023. The barn, however, dates back to the Civil War, when it was the Boothbay Guest House.
Amenities: Rooms include a private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, Prima Fleur toiletries, fresh flowers, robes, and a jetted tub, rainfall shower, or soaking tub. The suites include a gas burning fireplace. Outside, there is a fire pit for guests to enjoy and a private pier along the Kennebunk River. Bicycles are free to borrow, and there is an outside swimming pool for guests to use. The inn holds special events throughout the year, such as special dinners, trips, and adventures. White Barn’s Spa, located on-site, has a full menu of spa services, including massages, rituals, and Western therapies.
Restaurant: The cuisine at The White Barn Restaurant is fine dining with an emphasis on New England, and they have been awarded AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star ratings. You can choose from the Chef’s Eight Course Blind Tasting, the Lobster Tasting Menu, or the Prix Fixe Fine Dining Menu. The restaurant is open to the public as well as those enjoying the inn and spa. The cuisine at Little Barn is farm-to-table with an emphasis on local cuisine. Dinner is served Thursday-Sunday at The White Barn Restaurant. Dinner is served daily at Little Barn. Breakfast is offered to guests in the Little Barn.
The inn can host events, such as weddings and reunions, ranging from 14 to 100 guests in the Wine Cellar, Little Barn, or White Barn Inn Restaurant.
Recreational Activities: The Kennebunk River is a popular spot for kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and exploring. Or, visit Gooch’s Beach for surfing, swimming, and sunbathing.
The Seashore Trolley Museum is less than 5 miles away and great for those looking to learn about local history. Or, take to the water and go on a whale watch to learn about the marine life in Maine’s waters.
