History: Forks Adventure Resort has certainly changed since its humble beginnings nearly 50 years ago. In 1976, Wayne and Suzie Hockmeyer started rafting trips on the Kennebec and Penobscot rivers. In 1983, the first lodge was built and given the name Northern Outdoors. The Northern Outdoors team added snowmobiling and ATV trails to make the resort a year-round destination. Cabins were built, and a campground opened in the 2000s.
Amenities: The resort is home to the Kennebec River Brewery, which includes a full-service restaurant. On-site, guests have access to a huge outdoor hot tub, a swimming pool, Wi-Fi, many trails, and game areas. There is a gift shop, an arcade, a volleyball net, and a pavilion as well. The lodge can be rented for special events, including weddings.

After some basic paddling and safety instruction from your registered Maine Guide, we'll spend the day paddling and exploring the pristine waters of a remote wilderness lake surrounded by the mountains.
