Storer Garrison State Historic Site

The Storer Garrison historic site in Wells, Maine commemorates the century of warfare between the British colonial settlers and their French enemies who worked alongside their Native American allies. A small park (Storer Park) is located off of Route 1 next to the Garrison Suites Motel. The historic Garrison House, formerly on this property, has been moved to the Mike’s Clam Shack Restaurant property.  A granite monument in Storer Park now marks the site of Lieutenant Storer’s garrison.
