SUMMARY: The Storer Garrison historic site in Wells, Maine commemorates the century of warfare between the British colonial settlers and their French enemies who worked alongside their Native American allies. A small park (Storer Park) is located off of Route 1 next to the Garrison Suites Motel. The historic Garrison House, formerly on this property, has been moved to the Mike’s Clam Shack Restaurant property. A granite monument in Storer Park now marks the site of Lieutenant Storer’s garrison.
