SUMMARY: Skowhegan River Trail and DeBe Park is a nice ADA-compliant, paved pathway spanning the woods and the Kennebec River. The park area is no-frills but offers excellent views of the river and well-maintained trails and paved walkways to stroll around. There is a bike park located right off of the Skowhegan River Trail for bicyclists looking for more adventure. In the near future, Skowhegan River Park will be built, which will offer an accessible recreation area with expanded trails. The new River Park will also have whitewater waves in the gorge, so visitors can kayak, board, rube and surf. A lovely riverfront promenade will give visitors access to two miles of biking and pedestrian paths with amazing views. For the latest project updates, check out the Run of River site.
