History: The Rangeley Public Library was built in 1909. In 1959, a Children’s Room was established on the second floor of the building. In 1978, the library was added to the National Register of Historic Places. In 2002, an addition was built onto the library which allowed the building to house a larger collection and a second circulation desk.
Collections and Highlights: The library’s collection includes over 23,000 items that are both print and non-print. Fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs are all available. The library also has two children’s rooms that include computers, games, books, coloring and seating areas.
Exhibitions, Events & Programs: The library holds many events and programs throughout the year. Events include book clubs, story times, author talks, art projects and more. Check the library’s website for their up-to-date calendar.
Season/Hours of Operation: The library is open Tuesday - Friday 10 AM - 4:30 PM and Saturday 10 AM - 2 PM. On the last Wednesday of the month, the library is open until 7 PM.
