SUMMARY: The Portland Schooner Co. was established in 1912 and has been sailing the coast of Maine ever since. The schooners are all crafted in Maine and made of wood. Offering two-hour public sails, private charters, and lighthouse cruises, there are plenty of seasonal adventures to choose from. Guests board from the Maine State Pier in Portland. Sails are not narrated, so guests can enjoy the scenery or each other's company. However, guests can always engage with the crew with questions.

Cruising Grounds: Sails typically go from Portland Head Light, through Casco Bay and the Diamond Islands. Routes are subject to the weather and wind conditions.

Sails:
- Two-Hour Public Sail: On this sail, guests will see lighthouses, possibly seals and seabirds. You’re welcome to bring a lunch and drinks to enjoy during the sail.
- Private Charters: These sails can accommodate 1 to 49 guests depending on the boat.
- Lighthouse Cruise: This sail is an hour and a half on Ruth, a 29’ picnic-style tour boat. Ruth was built in 1935 in Falmouth, Maine. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink onboard.
- Special Sails: There is a 4th of July sail with stunning fireworks views.
