SUMMARY: For more than forty years, the Portland Ballet has been bringing its own unique take on classical, modern and contemporary dance to residents of Portland, ME.
MORE INFORMATION: History: Founded in 1980 along with the Portland School of Ballet, this company has brought a program of education for young dancers with an interest in ballet to fruition. Several performances are offered to the public every year and include guest dancers from the US and dancers from around the world in addition to the company.
Performances & Dance Styles: The Portland Ballet offers classical ballet performances with a modern twist, and introduces new works to the public. The Portland School of Ballet also offers an End of Year Showcase.

Summer Camp: Portland Ballet offers intensive summer courses for students who want to immerse themselves in ballet. One program is for those 11 years and older. A shorter junior intensive program is offered for the younger students. The junior program offers two one-week sessions and those 11-12 get to choose an introductory one week, with two sessions available. Those students 12 and over can take part in two two-week sessions.
