SUMMARY: The Monhegan Island Cliff Trail is located on Monhegan Island. You’ll need to take a ferry to reach the island and plan your return trip or spend the night at an inn. It’s a hiker's dream, with well-maintained trails, amazing Atlantic Ocean views, and moderately challenging terrain. Pack a picnic for the day or visit a quaint restaurant in the village for a bite to eat after a pleasant hike. Note that bikes are not permitted on the trails, which are for hiking only. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed, and owners must pick up after their dogs. Be on the lookout for poison ivy and mosquitoes, which can be prevalent along the trail.
