History: The inn was built in 1864 as a private summer cottage for the Ash family. In the 1940s, there was a fire in Bar Harbor that destroyed many historic buildings. The Mira Monte survived the fire and has since been considered one of the oldest homes in Bar Harbor.
Amenities: Guests are treated to a daily buffet-style breakfast and an afternoon refreshment. Rooms include premium bedding, private bathrooms, air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a fireplace, a balcony and/or a whirlpool tub.
Recreational Activities: The inn is a short drive from Acadia National Park. Downtown Bar Harbor and the waterfront are steps away from the inn. Check out the boutiques, souvenir shops, restaurants, and boats at the harbor.
Bar Harbor is a great spot to depart for a whale watch, fishing excursion or boating trip.
Season of Operation: The main inn is closed from November to May. Suites can be rented in the winter but do not include breakfast or housekeeping.
