History: The Minot Historical Society was established in 2001. The Minot Historical Society owns the Minot Historical Society House, which was built in 1830. The house was built for Elijah Jones, who was a preacher in Minot. Elijah and his wife had nine children who resided in the house.
Collections and Highlights: The Minot Historical Society House contains vintage furnishings, decor, and housewares. The Historical Society also has a collection of photographs, town documents, memorabilia, and genealogical documents.
Exhibitions, Events & Programs: Meetings are held at the Minot Town Office on the second Tuesday of every month. Sessions include guest speakers, history talks, and more and are open to the public. Fun community events are also held, including a Chili and Chowder Cookoff, Minot Community Day Celebration, and dinners.
