History: The Milo Historical Society was established in 1970. Initially, the society held a small collection of local artifacts within the Milo Town Hall. In 1996, the Historical Society purchased the oldest church structure in Milo to turn it into their museum.
Collections and Highlights: The collection includes the Milo High School Alumni display, which has Milo High School yearbooks, class photos, and trophies. Artifacts from the American Thread Company Spool mill, the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad, and the Boston Excelsior Mill are on display. These collections show the town of Milo’s industrial roots. The early domestic display features kitchen utensils, appliances, vintage clothing, accessories, and furnishings.
Exhibitions, Events & Programs: The museum holds changing exhibits throughout the year. Check the website for upcoming exhibits. The Historical Society has fun community events such as a Chili Cook-Off, art shows, lectures, attic sales, and much more. Check their Facebook page for upcoming events.
