History: Merrill Hall is named for Leon Merrill, who was the dean of the UMaine Agricultural College for 20 years. Designed by George M. Coombs of Lewiston, Merrill Hall in the Romanesque Revival Style, is the oldest building on campus. Nordica Auditorium was named for Madam Nordica, a world renowned opera singer, called America's first diva, who was born in Farmington as Lillian Norton in 1857. She performed here in the auditorium in 1911. Some people believe her spirit has never left and can be heard warming up in the auditorium to this day. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Performance Types: Some performances from the Pixel Hunter Video and Animation Festival are held in Merrill Hall – Nordica Auditorium. Performances include music and other forms of live entertainment. Arts Farmington uses the venue for its musical events.
Admission: Performances are free for University of Maine students. Tickets are $20 for adults for most performances.

Catering for all types of events is available from Sodexo dining and catering services. It makes a perfect venue for weddings, especially during the summer school break.
Parking: Street parking is available around the building and parking lots are available on the campus.
