History: The Harmon Museum is the former home of W. Warren and Grace Wales Harmon. W. Warren Harmon was one of the Old Orchard Beach Historical Society’s founding members, was a veteran, and was very active in the community. He bequeathed the home to the Historical Society in 1974.
Collections and Highlights: The Big Band memorabilia includes band items from the 1930s to 1960s including sheet music, magazines, tickets, clothing, posters, newspaper articles, and more. There’s even a giant disco ball from the 1970s. The Fire Room details the history of some devastating fires in Old Orchard Beach’s history. Photographs, newspaper clippings, and displays detail the stories of the fires. There is also a display full of police memorabilia. The Transportation Room has artifacts and a history dating from the 1880s to 1923. Trolley exhibits, models, newspaper articles, and more are in this room.
