SUMMARY: Harbourside Inn in Northeast Harbor is a shingle architectural style bed and breakfast with elegant charm and comfortable accommodations. The inn is beautiful both inside and out and features a breakfast porch, guest living room and quaint outdoor seating areas. Guests are just a 15-minute drive from popular Bar Harbor and close to all the shops and restaurants of Northeast Harbor. Each room accommodates two guests and has a three-night minimum. Rooms also have private bathrooms and air conditioning units. Note that the inn does not have TVs in guest rooms but does have free Wi-Fi.

History: The inn was built in 1888. It was one of seven cottages that were designed for Thomas Coster. It gets is English variation of the spelling “harbour” from Coster, who was from England. In 1927, Emily Philips Reynolds purchased the inn and then passed it to her daughter Mildred Gilley.
Amenities: Most rooms include a wood-burning fireplace and clawfoot tubs.
Recreational Activities: Northeast Harbor Hiking Trails can be accessed from the inn. The trails lead to Lower Hadlock Pond or the Northeast Harbor Golf Club. The inn is just minutes from Acadia National Park and Mt. Desert Island. Or, enjoy a sailing trip or a boat cruise to Somes Sound or book a fishing excursion.
