SUMMARY: METRO is owned and operated by the Greater Portland Transit District, and provides public fixed route transportation in Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth Crossing and the Maine Mall area of South Portland. METRO operates seven days a week.

Bus Service Routes:
- Husky Line: Service between Portland, Westbrook and Gorham and between Portland and Gorham USM campuses.
- METRO BREEZ: Express service, Monday - Saturday, between Portland, Yarmouth, Freeport, and Brunswick.
- Route 1 - Congress Street: Metro Route #1 provides local service between Thompson's Point/Portland Transportation Center (PTC) and Munjoy Hill/Eastern Prom via Congress Street and Fore River Parkway.
- Route 2 - Forest Avenue: Metro Route #2 provides service between downtown Portland and Prides Corner, Westbrook via Forest Avenue.
- Route 3 - Portland - Westbrook - South Portland: METRO’s Route #3  provides service between Portland / Riverside, Westbrook, and South Portland / Maine Mall area, with continued Route 5 service on most trips, to the Portland Jetport).
- Route 4 - Westbrook: METRO Route #4 travels between Portland and Westbrook, via USM (Portland) and Brighton Avenue, with service to IDEXX, Abbott Labs (NEW), the Hamlet, and Westbrook Hub (connect to Route 3 and Husky Line).
- Route 5 - Maine Mall: Route 5Â provides service between downtown Portland and the Maine Mall area of South Portland, with service to the Portland Transportation Center (10 minute walk); Jetport; Outer Congress Street; Foden Road; and more locations.
- Route 7 - Falmouth: Metro Route #7 provides service between Portland and Falmouth, with service to Maine Audubon (short walk) and Mackworth Island (longer walk); Wal-Mart; and limited service to OceanView; and Town Landing.
- Route 8 - Peninsula Loop: Metro Route #8 travels throughout the Portland Peninsula, with service to Congress Street, the Old Port, Maine Medical Center and Mercy Hospital (State Street location), Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Art’s District, Back Cove Hannaford, and the Waterfront (Casco Bay Lines and Visitor Information Center at Ocean Gatway).
- 9A/9B - N. Deering/West Falmouth:Â
- Route #9A travels in a clockwise direction from downtown Portland to North Deering.
- Route #9B travels in a counterclockwise direction along the same route.
- Service to all three Portland Public High Schools, Congress Street locations, Westgate, PTC (short  walk), Stevens Ave, Northgate,  West Falmouth,  Washington Avenue, and Eastern Prom/Munjoy Hill.
Accessibility: All METRO buses are accessible and equipped with passenger lifts or ramps that can be used by persons with wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids. All Metro’s buses contain space to accommodate two (2) people using wheelchairs.
