Cascade Falls is part of the Saco Bay Trails system, and it's a dog-friendly hike to a wonderful waterfall less than three miles from Old Orchard Beach.

Cascade Falls is on the Cascade Falls Trail, making it easy to find. Most of the trail is wheelchair accessible, but getting to the waterfall itself will require some steady steps down a steep hill. The trail will take you to the bottom and top of the falls, so take the chance to see it from all angles if you can safely do so.
Accessing the fall mid-drop isn't possible without some serious risks and heavy scrambling, but you have a nice pool at the bottom
Dogs must be kept on a leash in this preserve. Please pick up all pet waste as you can and carry it out with you.

Waterfall Safety
As with any waterfall, expect the surrounding rocks to be very slippery. The steep slope to access the water is tough when it's dry and will be more dangerous when muddy or icy. You'll come across many fallen trees or exposed tree roots.
The flatness of most of the trail gives a misleading assumption about the dangers around the waterfall. As you're taking careful steps, take note of anything covered in moss. That will make it even slipperier.
You should know tick prevention and removal tactics before visiting Cascade Falls. These woods are thick with ticks at a level most people won't realize.
Don't drink the water here, and keep pets from drinking it too. Even though it looks refreshing, it can carry toxins or bacteria that can make you and your pet sick.
Parking at Waterfall
There's a decent-sized free parking lot at the entrance to the trailhead off Cascade Road. If you're driving from OOB and hit Route 1, you've gone too far.
