SUMMARY: Boothbay Lights is a magnificent event showcasing the holiday spirit of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor. The event lasts for six weeks, so there’s plenty of time to take in all the activities and sights. The festivities are perfect for families looking to see or meet Santa as he can be seen at storytime, on a train ride, or even on a boat. There are so many sparkling lights to take in and fun activities for visitors of all ages.
MORE INFORMATION: History: Boothbay Lights started in 2016 as a way to showcase Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor’s businesses, restaurants, and Christmas cheer. Each year, the displays have grown to include more lights, more activities, and more fun.

Attractions:
- Gardens Aglow is a walking path featuring over 750,000 lights across fourteen acres. There are special themes in the garden to explore.
- The Early Bird Sale & Pajama Party has become a fun, cozy event that shoppers look forward to each year. Put on your comfiest pajamas and enjoy special discounts at the shops around Boothbay.
- The Lighted Firetruck Parade starts at the Boothbay Fire Station and goes through town, ending at the Meadow Mall. This evening parade includes a parade float contest, Santa and the Grinch.
- The North Pole Express is a magical train ride that departs from the Boothbay Railway Village Museum. Children will have the opportunity to see the North Pole and Santa.
- Santa and Friends Arrive By Boat and the Lighted Boat Parade are two activities that typically take place on the same day. See the boats decked out in holiday lights in the harbor, followed by a dazzling fireworks show.
- Other activities include story time with Santa, a gingerbread house decorating contest, a community lights contest, and a wooden buoy tree.
Admission: Gardens Aglow, the North Pole Express, and other activities may charge a fee.
Parking: On-street parking is available but can be difficult to find. There is a free shuttle departing from the Boothbay Harbor Town Office.
