MORE INFORMATION: History: The Blue Hill Historical Society was established in 1902 so that the heritage and history of Blue Hill could be preserved. The Historical Society is housed in the Holt House, built in 1815. The Holt House was a family homestead and became an inn with a tavern. It was purchased by the Historical Society in 1970.
Collections and Highlights: The collection includes historical clothing and costumes, photographs, 18th to 20th-century memorabilia, children’s toys, dolls, and games. The Carriage House collection includes tools, carriages, a sleigh, and wagons. The collection also includes the Blue Hill History Archives, which contains town records and documents.
