MORE INFORMATION: History: Kathe and Bob Bartlett brought their wine-making expertise to Maine in 1975. They soon realized that the Maine weather was not conducive to most grapes, but it certainly was perfect for the wild blueberries that make their home along the Maine coast. The first of their wines was produced in 1983 and from the eight original varieties they have grown to 20, including dry and semi-dry blueberry red, pear-apple whites, and sweet blackberry dessert wines.
Specialties: Fruit wines are the specialties of Bartlett Maine Estate Winery & Distillery. They have now added a small batch oak aged rum called Rusticator made with organic molasses.
